I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado where my father was a Professor of wildlife biology with Colorado State University. In 1984 he went to work for Ducks Unlimited and later the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. I accompanied him in the field at a very young age. It is through him, who is still my best hunting partner that I gained my passion for the outdoors and learned my conservation values.
I enjoy all types of hunting, but whenever it involves calling to and interacting with the game I'm after, I enjoy it much more. Waterfowl hunting, turkey hunting and elk and deer hunting during the rut are my favorites, with archery elk hunting being tops. I enjoy the challenge and close range opportunities that archery, shotgun and muzzleloader hunting provide the best, but will certainly pack a rifle into the woods as well. I have been a co-host and guest for several outdoor television shows on the Versus Network, including Beretta's Waterfowler's Edge, Winchester's Turkey Revolution, and Winchester's Whitetail Revolution. I was just named as one of three Co-Hosts to the 2010 season of Winchester's Whitetail Revolution.
I am an avid outdoorsman and conservationist and have been involved with Ducks Unlimited, The Nature Conservancy and Colorado Conservation Trust. I am also active in improving wildlife habitat and am involved in three recreational properties, where I am working to improve either the hunting or fishing habitat. Two properties are in Colorado which my family and I get to enjoy personally. The third one was recently purchased in the Nebraska panhandle and although I will certainly enjoy it personally, it is a business venture and after I improve the habitat, I will likely run a hunting club, which my partner and I will manage.
I live in Westminster, Colorado with my wife and two children, who I thank everyday for allowing me to pursue my passion for the outdoors.
